Middle Aged women were greatly affected by fashion and everything near&far east. Some of the ornate turban style headdress's and the popularity of silk and brocades, reflect the Arabic influence. The Crusades opened up new Avenues of trade. In the thirteenth century, women were thought to be most beautiful when pregnant, so fashion reflected that in the empire waist and padded midsection. Everyone wore hose, and shoe styles were extreme. Party colored clothing reflecting family crests and colours, became more popular as the 14th century rolled around.for a good website on this topic cut and paste this romancereaderatheart2.com/medieval/timeline/
