Carmel Mission – Known as Mission Carmel Basilica, this restored mission is built in classic mission style. It has Moorish style bell towers, a central courtyard and a sandstone fortress like architecture. The museums onsite have antiques and memorabilia from the area. The cemetery contains the graves of over 3,000 Native Americans. It is a popular destination and is a National Historic Landmark.
The Barnyard – With stunning gardens and brick walkways, this center has been a leading cultural center. Old-style shopping with boutiques, galleries, and first class restaurants make this an attractive and charming place to visit.
Chateau Julien – This 16 acre winery offer Italian style wines with California flavor. The French style chateau is decorated with antiques and classic pieces giving guest and place to relax and sample wine. A conservatory offers breathtaking views especially of the night sky.
The Weston Gallery – This gallery feature photography of local and international artists. There is a large collection of Ansel Adams photographs. There are works available for sale.
