What Is Called As Red Alert?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Red Alert is part of a color code developed in the United States known as the Homeland Security Advisory System to gauge the likelihood and threat of a terrorist attack. The color red represents the highest risk level with information being explicitly received about certain area being targeted with a high possibility of the plans being actually carried out by terrorists.

In such a situation the highest security measures are taken like the area being sealed off and deployment of special of members of the National Guard along with the local law enforcement personnel. All civilians and automobiles within the area are searched thoroughly and trained dogs are used to detect the presence of explosives.

The system was also earlier used in the UK known as the BIKINI state which was also applicable in case of war times and the likelihood of the use of nuclear weapons. The situations in which Red Alert is applicable are especially government targets and places like airports, railway stations, busy markets where a large number of people congregate.
