Why Do Teens Eat Fast Food?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Because it's faster then going home and making food. Or they don't know how to cook so they go to places and eat there so they don't go hungry. Or they want to take there friends out every night and eat. They can also impress there friends.

It is often a matter of convenience.  Teens are typically on the move from one activity to another and food is just something that they use to fill their tummies when necessary.  In older people,  food often becomes something that they build their day around...not teens.  They want something that is quick and that tastes good.  Studies show that they are not particular about calories or the nutritional benefits of food.  Just make it good and quick!  Fast food places often become places to socialize with other teens.  Even during the last generation, fast food joints were the place to be after school and in the evenings if you wanted to be seen or see other teens.
