Keep an eye out for other symptoms, other than just drinking a lot of water. Is he eating/going to bathroom/sleeping/less or more active that normal? (anything that is out of the ordinary for him, may be an indication of something being wrong). If his behavior is scaring you that much- take him to the vet.
