The term cote basically means a shed or a shelter for domestic animals. A shed generally is a basic, one story structure usually built in the back garden or on an allotment which is commonly used for storage purpose or to carry out hobbies and can even be used as a small work shop.
Sheds usually differ considerably in the complexity of their edifice and their size. From small open sided tin-roofed constructions to huge wood framed sheds which have shingled roofs, windows and electrical outlets.
