I Had A Colonoscopy And An Endoscopy, Would They Have Checked For Liver Problems In These 2 Tests?

Answer Question

Hi, I used to be in the medical field, so I will try to help you.  The colonoscopy an endoscopy only check your upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, which is basically from your throat down to your stomach and then your colon.  There is no way with the endoscope to check your liver during either procedure.  They can "check" your liver with an MRI or CT scan, but to actually look at it, they would have to do open surgery.  Hope this helps.

No a colonoscopy checks your intestines entering through your bottom. An endoscopy enters through your throat and they check from your throat down to the small intestine. I have had an endoscopy done and my sister has had a colonoscopy done both are an outpatcient procedure. They would do blood tests, MRI, or CT scan to check you liver.
