There are a few types of CNG filling:

    1- Time fill:
A vehicle is filled directly from a compressor - without the need for
storage cylinders at the re-fuelling station.

This method takes plenty time to fill up the gas, therefore, vehicles
are parked up for some length of time, normally overnight. Hence, this method is most suited to depot based refueling like buses, trucks, etc.

The reason why this method can not be used for refueling public vehicles is that the quantity of fuel dispensed into each vehicle can not easily be monitored and secondly it takes long time to refuel.

    2 - Fast fill:
With this is method, vehicle is filled straight from a stored volume of gas that has previously been filled in huge cylinders.
This speeds up the refueling. This method is normally used for public cars refueling.

Electronic dispensers are used to dispense gas into vehicles. This device has the ability to control pressure; therefore they can dispense accurate quantity of gas.

Electronic dispensers are fully automatic and they are found at large CNG stations and public courtyards.
