What Are Beefsteak Mushrooms?
Was looking for morel mushrooms on my Missouri property. Found what I've been told are called beefsteak mushrooms and that they are edible. Haven't found any recipes though. Would like to learn all that I can about them. It's just my way. Thanks.

Beefsteak Mushrooms usually grow on the sides of the trees. The have a very short stem and only grow from the top in diameter. The top of a beefsteak mushroom looks like the "false morel", only it is a little wider and not as tall. Here is one such link for recipes of Beefsteak mushroom:
