ITT or the Institute of Travel and Tourism is one of the most well known organisations in the United Kingdom. It was started in the year 1956 and one of its main aims is to establish and ensure professional standards in the entire tourism industry of the UK. It also acts as a platform in helping people from the tourism industry to broaden their network of contacts through communication. It also encourages the various corporate and student bodies to become its members.
The institute holds many events and conferences at various destinations for members all year round. One of its main contributions to the travel on tourism industry happened in the year 2004 with the introduction of the "Aspire Conference" which is mainly for students studying travel & tourism throughout the UK. In the past two years it's been held at various destinations including Liverpool, Bognor Regis and London in the year 2007.
