Why Does Everyone Think That Pit Bulls Are Mean?

Yes i think they can be mean if their owner makes them mean but what dog wouldn't be if he was made to be

I think a dog will turn out the way you raise it to be. I own 2 pitbulls they are nothing but big babies not a mean bone in them. They are great with our kids

I can't remember what they were originally bred for but it was a task that required them to be just what they are. Tough, aggressive, and strong. Not something that was meant to be around children that is for sure!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that is why they are stereotyped as they are. The same goes for dobies, and rottweilers, and sometimes boxers, which are the kindest of the 4 breeds.
Pits, have been known to attack for no reason at times. Sometimes there could just be an accidental stepping on of the tail, and they will attack because they are hurt and can't always control their anger. (just like humans).
Sometimes they are a product of their (bad) surroundings. A bad owner can indeed make a bad dog, and sadly, for the dog, the result is death. I think that if you are going to be an owner of any animal, then you need to be a responsible owner, and show them love and kindness.
And for the safety of a child, I do not think that that is the best environment, sometimes they snap for no reason, and the child has to suffer immense pain and suffering, or even death. A behavior school is probably one of the best things that you can do for one of these animals, and then it could be considered to be a safer animal.

I have found a lot of information off of this site. It explains a lot about the history of most breeds.

Because they are uneducated and probably watch the news that only portrays them as bad dogs. This is not the truth they have the are the same as other dogs if you treat them with kindness and love they will do the same for you.

People consider  pitts to be bad because of the stupid idiots that mistreat them and no one ever says the good side of a pitt but if u look it up they say they are loyal loving dogs that devote their exists to their family i have one and have had a few and love them best dogs i have ever had and i am a single mother of three under the age of seven i trust my dog more than someone who has one that is considered a family dog that i dont know

Because people teach these dogs to be mean these dogs are very loving and protective people use that to make Them aggressive

A very long time ago this breed was made for a reason, but that's another question. No matter what this breed always feel like they have a job to do "protect" and take down.
