In NT there is average API de-fragmentation. It has the attractive limit for records block relocating: it is likely to transfer not fewer than 16 clusters (!) at once, and these clusters should create from the location16 clusters aligned in a file. In ordinary, the process is carried out tremendously for 16 clusters. The consequences:
1. It is not possible to transport anything in the unused space smaller amount than 16 clusters (with the exception of compressed files but it is not attention-grabbing at the moment).
2. A file life form transferred in an additional place leaves (in the new place) "the temporarily engaged space" adding it on the size up to large quantity to 16 clusters.
3. At effort to transfer a file the incorrect way ("not multiply to 16 ") the consequence is often changeable. Something is in a minute not transferred, but the whole arena is elegantly littered wit "the temporary occupied space". These "for the short term occupied space" serves for sweeping statement of system restoration in the case of a machine breakdown and is usually not tied up semi a minute later.
