The Boston Tea Party was an endeavor planned by Sam Adams in response to the Boston Massacre, all of which took place in American colonies. The Boston Massacre, which had resulted in the death of five colonists by British soldiers angered the colonists so much that they were thinking of ways to respond to this cruelty on part of the British government.
Finally Sam Adams planned the Boston Tea Party, which involved the boarding of some of the members of Sons of Liberty (a revolutionary movement) on the ships that were sent back to Britain carrying loads of thousands of pounds of tea. Their plan involved throwing the tea into the water by opening the tea chests so as to make the British government suffer huge losses, which it definitely did as tea was one of the most important items sent from the colonies to Great Britain, which was a highly prolific item as far as its trade nature was concerned.
