    You need to put your cable into your iPod and then into your computer.  If you need a new cable, then consider cheaper alternative cables and mp3 player accessories, instead of paying for brand name ones.  They serve the same purpose, but are much cheaper.

      There can be many reasons for an Ipod to not connect to your computer. The question is whether that happened when you first used it or have you used it before with a computer. You would need to connect the iPod with the cable that comes with the packaging. Or with the USB. Simply plug the cable into the firewire or a high powered USB 2.0 port on the computer. Then connect the other end of the cable to the iPod. IPod will import songs automatically when it is connected to your computer. Use the link below for complete instructions:
