    The job markets for network engineers are increasing as is the need to maintain more and complex networks.Main job markets are network administration,network solution provider and designer and other related work.

      Many companies are converting their telephone systems from proprietary equipment to Voice Over IP systems. This means that what used to be the computer network is now being used for both voice and data. This additional workload has helped the market - I make a very nice living doing this and a friend of mine who works for ATT makes > 100,000USD / year as a network engineer.
