I have roses and i live in mississippi and i need to know how to prune roses, when to prune them, what to do about stalks that are taller than the bush....etc.

Well, pruning is very health full for the plants and the roses. Pruning is a very time consuming job and it also require practice. The tools which you used for the pruning purpose should be very sharp. The pruning should be started from the plant's base. The cut which you made should on the 45 degree; the cut should not be ragged. You should cut the dry most plant's branches. The stalks should be pruned properly; the pruning time depends upon the kind of the plant and the place where it grows. Spring is the season when most of the pruning used to occur.
