She Went A Week Without Eating. Now Her Tongue Looks Swollen To Me. What Does This Mean/what Can I Do To Help Her?

My lep. Spotted gecko recently shed about a week ago and didn't eat normally and then I was out of town and undue to my own fault was out later than I thought and she went a week without eating. Now her tongue looks swollen to me. What does this mean/what can I do to help her? I'm asking because I'm concerned because she wasn't able to catch her crickets on her own. I had to eventually hold down the back leg of two and she managed to swallow them. Help please!!??!!

If  gecko does not eat for 2-3 days then it is normal. One week can be sufficient to cause weakness. There can be many reasons of not eating. These can be

    1. It is possible that your gecko has ingested substrate while eating  her normal meals. This can cause injury in the throat and possible swelling in tongue.
    2. If your gecko has intestinal Parasite, then she can stop eating.
    3. Sometimes, female geckos stop eating before laying eggs
    4. geckos can stop eating if the temperature is too low or too high.
So, it will be good to see a vet for the diagnosis of problem in your Spotted gecko.
