Can I Give My Dog Pepto Or Other OTC Medications For Diarrhea?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You can give Pepto Bismol to your dog but before giving, discuss with your local dog because no medicine either OTC or prescription should not be given to dogs without supervision of vet. Pepto Bismol can be used to treat diarrhea and minor stomach problems in dogs.

Pepto Bismol contains salicylate. Its dose in dogs is 1-3 ml per Kg body weight 2 times a day. Remember, Pepto Bismol can not treat  infection. So, if cause of the diarrhea in your dog is infection due to parasites, fungus, protozoan, bacteria or virus then it will not worm.
