Russell Brand originally was an acting student, he got a scholarship to attend the prestigious acting school at Drama Centre in Camden, London.  Whilst attending this infamously rigorous school (often called Trauma Centre) that Russell Brand became interested in stand up and began performing locally and getting involved in gigs and competitions.
