What Is The Place And Origin Of Paganism?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The original definition of 'Pagan'  was 'country dweller'. The word originated in Western Europe.
This was used to describe the people who had yet to be converted from the old ways to Christianity. The word became a general term for people who do not follow the 'religions of Abraham'.
Because the old ways are not of these religions, pagan often refers to all other religions.
Pagan becomes more specific and means religions that are earth & spiritually based such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Wicca, Pantheism, Aborigine, etc.
All these can be found across the world.

Depends on which country you are talking about? Paganism is a religion based on nature. It follows the lunar year. Do you mean a sacred place? If so, then somewhere like Stonehenge in England would suffice.  Wiccans create their own sacred place around them wherever they happen to be.
