It may seem like a dream to be a writer, and in fact plenty of people do want to write professionally but they are afraid to because of the money. Most writers do not earn much money compared to other occupations. It is an extremely competitive field to get into and it is not something you can break into overnight. However, if you are serious about becoming a writer professionally, there are things you can do.
It all depends upon whether you want to write fiction or non-fiction. Non-fiction is definitely easier to get into though there is still a lot of competition. Also, you need to decide whether you want to write as a freelancer, or whether you would prefer to be employed by a company such as a newspaper. Becoming a journalist takes hard work and dedication and if that is what you want to do, then you should take a course at university. Becoming a freelance writer is a little different and it mainly involves building up a client database by looking through freelance websites. There are quite a few freelance websites around; you just have to take your time finding them. You can do whatever you want to do in life and so if you want to be a writer, find out as much as possible and you will be able to do it eventually.

If i were you i would write something and then type it and make sure there isnt any errors and print it and then bring it around and advertise it and call places that publish things and get yourself out there and you should get some sort of feed back. People might tell you what to write about by seeing the kind of writer you are from the first thing you wrote or someone might offer to publish your story!! Good luck!!!
