    Tenant Served An Eviction Notice, Out Within The 10 Days. Sued For Damages 6-8 Months Later. What Rights Do The Tenants Have Against Damages Claimed When Only Verbal Contract Otherwise Prior To Eviction Notice And After?

    My landlord sent an eviction notice and 8 months later filed a civil suit for damages.

    To be honest it's not about whether the contract you had with the Landlord was verbal or written, it's whether any damage was caused or not. If you did cause damage to his property then he can file a claim against you. If you did not do any damage to the property it may be hard to prove.
