President Clinton paid a visit to the new chief of the United Nations in April 2007. The meeting with Ban Ki-moon was held at the request of the ex president. The President wanted to speak to the Secretary General on a host of topics including Africa and the crisis in Darfur, The Middle East conflict, the breakdown and lawlessness in Iraq, the stand off with Iran regarding its Nuclear Program and the AIDS crisis faced by the world today.

Ban Ki-moon the 8th head of the United Nations and was formerly a diplomat from South Korea.

It is believed that his outlook and views reflect those of the west. In March 2007 the Secretary General was addressing a press conference when mortar rounds started slamming home. The conference was interrupted and Ban Ki-moon was visibly shaken.
