My Cat Gets A Wild Look In Her Eyes Sometimes And Then Tears Around The House. Is There Something Wrong With Her?
Answers
Your cat is just practising her hunting techniques and through instinct is keeping herself fit, so that if she has to flee from an aggressor she can or if she needs to catch a mouse it won't outrun her!
Cats very often get a 'mad look' about them almost as if they can see something which is invisible to us. It is thought that cats are actually 'day dreaming' and so she is sat there having a fantasy about a big mouse, or a very fast bird and then has to run around to try and catch it !
Whilst it can be disconcerting to have a cat running round the house beserk, it is important (for them) not to try and curtail the behaviour, particularly not by shouting at her to stop it since this may cause her to feel stressed. Just let her have her mad five minutes and then she can settle down to doze away the rest of the day !

My cat also does this. The wild look in the eyes and the running about the house. It is perfectly natural and she will be fine. She may just need to wear off some extra energy or something. As Hedgehog said, don't correct her. Just give her a few minutes of playtime. Also, if you don't already, get some toys and play with her.

Maybe she does this, only when she sees that handsome old Tom walking by the window, it gets her so excited that she goes bananas, hoping to cross his path.

I don't know maybe a quick visit to the vet would help I think also he might have allergies to something if not I feel bad I think a visit to the vet will tell you what's wrong.
