A bull snake is a species of snakes which is large in size. It is not uncommon for bull snakes to grow to a length of seven feet or more. The male bull snake is usually larger than the female.
They are usually yellow in colour. They have brown, black and sometimes even reddish spots. Albinos and white bull snakes have also been found. It is a non-venomous species of colubrid snakes.
The scientific name of the bull snake is Pituophis catenifer sayi. They are predominantly found in the central states of the United States of America, including Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming. They are also found in Alberta and Saskatchewan (Canadian provinces) and Chihuahua (Mexico).
