Type of foodborne illness produced by the improperly canned foods is called botulism which is caused by the toxins produced by the Clostridium botulinum. This illness can lead to death. The symptoms are

- slurred speech
- Swallowing problems
- Paralysis of legs, arms, and trunk.
- Paralysis of respiratory muscle can cause death.
