What Do You Think About Testimonial Pages For A Company Web Site?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Testimonial pages are good, so long as they are genuine and legitimate customers have some way of checking their veracity prior to making a purchase.

Do resist the temptation to make up a testimonial for the sake of speed or to fill out the page. For a testimonial page pivots entirely on trust. No matter what you think, there is a distinct possibility it will be seen through very quickly and rapidly exposed. Many web site users can spot these things a mile away and take little hesitation in letting other know.

Moreover, posting fake testimonials etc. is now illegal in the EU in any case.

Any quotes you do use on a testimonial page must be properly signed off by the customer involved, and they should be prepared to put their name, company and/or general location to it as well. Those providing testimonials will need reassurance on where and how you intend using their quote.

Do not post their email address or telephone number in order to prevent your customer being spammed by email or phone. Agree in advance how you will handle contact requests from potential customers and what steps you will take to  ensure all requests are genuine.
