U can connect them with 1 network cable, then choose Internet options, status, networking tab, then click on internet protocol version 4 (TCP/ IPV4), then properties, and write a new IP starting with 192.168.1.X (X= "whatever number") and the same on other Laptop, then check on sharing folders by right clicking on the "D:" folder, and choose properties then sharing tab, and check on "share" button and the other laptop will show it as a new shared drive.
