I definitely don't my grandma was raised on a farm and she told me chickens were the meanest animal but they tasted good.(no offense to vegetarians)

 I think that if you have a proper place for the chickens, it is easier to keep them as pets compared to other pets. You only have to keep the food twice a day with water and the rest is no problem.

 Most people don't really consider chickens as pets, they are usually considered livestock, but they ar fairly easy to keep. Keep their food and water fresh, Give them shelter, appropriate for your area, and space safe from predators such as neighbourhood dogs and cats, owls, and hawks. Check with your local feed store for worming medicine, and lice control, try to keep more hens than roosters or your hens may be overbred and loose feathers on their backs, or even wounds.
