Can You Tell Me About Helena Rubinstein's Contribution To The Beauty Industry

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It has often been joked that Aladdin had his genie but Helena Rubinstein had her twelve jars of face cream to make her rich and famous. She is widely considered to be one of the moving forces in the beauty industry.

She was born to Augusta and Horace Rubenstein on the 25th Dec, 1870 in Krakow in Poland. She was the first born of eight children. After studying medicine in Switzerland in 1902 she migrated to Australia. Once there, she observed that all the Australian women had ruddy, sun burned faces. Rubenstein saw the urgent need for cosmetics, and being an enterprising lady, quickly opened a modest beauty store in Melbourne. There she would personally instruct women on how to care for their damaged skin.

Soon her hard work and innovation paid off and her salons and beauty products became world famous. She took her products to America where they were an instant success. Thus one can say that her contribution to the beauty industry is painstakingly building a company Helena Rubinstein, Incorporated which is a leading cosmetics company that caters to all kinds of skin requirements.
