Am I Taking Care Of My Cat Well?

I want to know if I've been taking care of my cat and how i can improve, my cat is a domestic short hair, female, 11 pounds 5 years old. I brush her teeth every day with four paws pet dental with fluoride. She gets a flea bath every 2 weeks. In/out cat. Eats Purina ONE adult cat advanced nutrition hairball formula with yogurt. Whiskas temptations salmon flavour treats and fancy feast wet food once a week. The only problem is she doesn't go to the vet (money problems) but i'll take her to a vet for emergency problems.

I would say that you are pampering kitty with the teeth thing, their hard food is formulated so that it takes care of keeping the teeth clean, and you are bathing the cat too often. She only really needs a couple of baths a year. Other than that, does she have any toys, they love feather toys, and catnip, you are doing fine then. Hope this helps you out. I love cats, and have 4 of them, used to have 6.

Based on what you said your way over doing it with kitty.

Tiggers right a bath 1-2 a year MAYBE only if utterly needed, no need to brush their teeth as said the food will do that for them. Flea treatment seems a little excessive, get a flea collar or the stuff you put on the back of their necks it's something like a once a month application. Shouldn't be eating yogurt, at least human yogurt as cats are actually lactose intolerant (they should have special kitty milk). If you cut down on the pampering the money you save can go to a 6 month check up for the fur ball :o)

As for toys my cat is a picky little bastard as well, I've spent heaps on some fancy cat toys only for him to paw them once or twice then leave them, never to be touch again. HOWEVER he goes insane over a piece of al-foil (tinfoil to American folk) rolled up into a golf ball sized ball.
