What Are The Water Crises In Pakistan?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The country is in the grip of scarcity of water. It is due to drought or less water in our rivers and lake water. A few years back the summer season started late and as a result of it the iceberg that melted in the summer season and provided water to our rivers could not provide water. So the country side depending on agriculture was hard hit by this drought. Due to the less rain the under ground water level was badly affected. This alarming situation frightened the people as there was no water for food and agriculture.

At the time of independence 5000 cu/M water was available to every Pakistani now 1000 cu/M water is used by every Pakistani. As a result of drought and uncertain rainfall in the Desert areas of Pakistan, the wells have gone dry the lakes and rivers are with out water.  There is a little greenery and no crop is visible.  Water in the dams had gone to the dead levels; so many canals were shut down in the cultivation season. If less supply of water in the dams has resulted in the less production of electricity it is a pity that no dam has been built in the previous century during the last 50 years.
