Is The Isle Of Man A Country In Itself?

As the Isle of Man is a crown dependency is it NOT part of the UK or the EU, but most administration is undertaken by the UK and there is no Isle of Man passport. Nevertheless, I feel the IOM IS a country in its own right, and that visiting it from ANY other country counts as "going abroad" Discuss!

The Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom but even then,UK has the ultimate say in all matters of legislation of the land.It is not wholly a country yet it holds its own parliament and manages domestic affairs.I think it cannot be called a nation on its own though it enjoys many  privileges.
