Although European is comparatively poor, yet they are also spending more money than ever before.

This desire to look more attractive has given birth to this prosperous industry. This excessive devotion to physical has led women to use a number of hair and skin foods. They are using from simple face crème and hair lotions to rubber reducing belts, injection of paraffin wax, facial surgery, mud baths, massage machines and a variety of paints. These things cost them a lot of money but they do not try to be economical. They spend freely on their beauty needs.

Huxley points out that this modern trend is not a result of only wealth. Wealthy people always paid more attention bodily fitness.
