How Does Adoption Save Lives?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Adoption can save lives in many different ways. Depending on the circumstances, adopting a child can free it from an abusive parent, poverty or many other conditions. Children abused by their parents are often placed in foster care, before being made available for adoption after a court decides that they are unfit to continue as that child's guardians. Adoptions can also take place following major disasters, where wars and natural events can leave children orphaned and traumatized. They might also be subject to child trafficking on the black market in some war-torn countries if not found and placed into adoptive care. Additionally, some parents will choose to put their children up for adoption rather than resorting to abortions. Adopting parents might also want to prevent their own children from inheriting hereditary diseases. Some organizations that provide adoption services and further information on individual cases include Barnados, Save the Children and BAAF (British Adoption and Fostering).

It depends on the situation. Adoption can save lives in many ways...Maybe the birth parent or parents of that child can't afford to take care of it or maybe their unfit parents and putting the child up for adoption is the only way to save it. Maybe the birth parents wants the child to have a good life and be cared for in the right way. Its plenty of ways that adoption can save lives.
