    Musselburgh Racecourse is a horse racecourse situated in East Lothian, Scotland based on the coastline of the Firth of Forth, approximately six miles east of Edinburg city centre.

    Musselburgh the town holds the title of being the oldest town in Scotland. Initially this town was occupied by Romans after they had invaded Scotland in the AD80. The town name Musselburgh is of Anglo-Saxon origin with the word Mussel meaning Shellfish. The total population of the town is 22,112 according to the census conducted in the year 2001.

    Musselburgh is quiet famous for its sporting venues and events like, Musselburgh Race Course which holds horse racing on regular basis. The Golf open Championship is also associated with this town. The Musselburgh Cricket Club and Inveresk Lodge Gardens are also based in this town.
