Who Are The Main Characters In CS Lewis's Narnia Books?

These seven much-loved children's classics feature a range of characters. Most important (of the humans) are the Pevensie children Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, whose adventures make up the first two books. Edmund and Lucy, being younger, get a third turn (in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) before being replaced by their cousin Eustace and his schoolfriend Jill. Always in the background (and the main characters of The Magician's Nephew) are the Pevensie's older friends Diggory and Polly, who created the portal to Narnia in the first place. The only story in which none of these characters is central is "The Horse and His Boy." Finally, and more important than any of these, at the centre of all the stories is Aslan, the godlike lion who rules over the (talking) animals and humans of Narnia. He regulates the comings and goings of the "sons of Adam and daughters of Eve" who enter Narnia, and sets them various tasks.
