Confession is one of the seven sacraments in mainstream Christianity, In Catholicism; it is the sacrament of reconciliation wherein the faithful go to a Catholic Church preferably once a week to confess their sins. They go to a church, and kneel in a small cubicle like box. Separated by a screen (to protect identities) a Catholic priest will sit on the other side. The person will then confess all his/her sins to the priest and the priest will listen to them in silence. Finally the priest will absolve their sins and depending on the sins will command them to say some prayers as penance.
Other Christian sects do not believe that a priest or pastor has the right to absolve sins and instead encourage their followers to take their sins directly to God in prayer.
Confession may also refer to criminal confessions where a criminal will admit to committing a crime to some kind of authority like the police for instance.

Before going to Confession, examine your conscience-that is- call to mind the times you broke the ten commandments and make a record of it. to tell the Priest.memorise ALL your sins.Write them down on a piece of paper, to make sure you dont forget.
go into the confessional, or whatever it is, and Bless yourself.
Say 'Bless me father for I have sinned. It has been(state how long it has been) since my last confession. These are my sins.'
Tell the Priest ALL your sins.do not hold any back, he is just listening for God.It is not neccesary to go into details unless he asks.If you dont know weather something is a sin, you can ask him.
When you have named all your sins say' for all the sins I have ever committed I am truely sorry.''
The Priest will then perscribe pennance. Listen carefully- you must not forget your pennance.
when he has finished, say the act of Contrition-'Oh My God I thank you for loving me.I am sorry for all my sins. For not loving others and not loving you.Help me to live like Jesus and not sin again, Amen.'
The Priest will give you absolution(forgiveness.)
Leave the confessional with a truely contrite heart.
Say your penance and in future try to never sin again.
You are then completely clensed of your sins. The Lord has granted you forgiveness and you can be happy and have peace of soul.

First of all as justice14 says examine yoursel- try to do this with the bible- e.g. The ten commandment, which ones are you obeying and which ones are you not?
After that pray, to God, ask him to forgive you of your sins, tell him your sorry, and that you try to not sin again. Then you'll be forgiven. If you believe your forgiven then you are.
Then try to live according to the ten commandmets, don't lie, steal, murder, disobey your partents, dont worship anyone other than God, dont swear or misuse Gods name.Etc.
