    The Duchess of York, Sarah Margaret Fergusson was born on October 15, 1959 in London; she married Prince Andrew on July 23, 1986 and received the title Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of York. The Duchess is herself of aristocratic and royal lineage and a descendant of King Charles II; her parents were Major Ronald Ferguson and Susan Mary Wright.

    The Duke and Duchess of York had two children, Princess Beatrice of York (b.1988) and Princess Eugenie of York (b.1990). The couple divorced in 1996 after which the Duchess was known as Sarah, Duchess of York. She is well known for her charity work which includes being spokesperson for SOS Children's Villages and patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association; she also has created charity organizations of her own called Chances for Children and Children in Crisis.

    Sarah, Duchess of York has also tried her hand at several ventures like hosting her own talk show along with broadcasting and advertising work; she has also written a few books of which her autobiography My Story (1996) became a best seller.
