How Are The Vertex And The Axis Of Symmetry Of A Quadratic Function Related?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The vertex is on the axis of symmetry. The equation of the axis of symmetry defines the value of the independent variable at the vertex.

    Example
y = (x-1)2    has an axis of symmetry at x=1. The x coordinate of the vertex (1, 0) is x=1.
