    Should I Hear A Noise When Trying To Ignite My Gas Hot Water Heater?

    I had to turn off the pilot light to my water heater,but now can't relight it.

    No, I don't think you should hear a voice when you ignite your gas hot water heater. There is a pipe in the box for the pilot. There seems to be problem with it. I think you have to change the pipe.

      Turn the red knob to pilot and push it down. Take a long match and light the end lf the orfice. Keep holding red knob down for 5 to 10 seconds, then let off red knob and turn red knob to on position and burner will automatically kick on.
