Does Jogging Put A Lot Of Strain On Your Joints?

    Answers

Jogging is considered a high impact exercise that puts the body and specifically the joints of the knee under strain. The entire point of the exercise is to put impact on these areas and stimulate growth. It is also beneficial for the cardiovascular system, building stamina, conditioning the legs and enjoying the outdoors. Even then, the knees, feet, ankles and hips can be severely stressed. In people who have undergone a knee replacement, activities such as jogging where high joint loads occur of between 40-60 degrees of knee flexion inlay stress may occur.

People choosing to look for alternatives to jogging can take up cycling as this is an obvious alternative. Stress on the joints is minimized and it is also beneficial to the cardiovascular system. Swimming and running in water are both good for the cardiovascular system and both cause even less stress to the joints.
