Is It Slander To Speak Publicly About Someone Without Their Knowledge When What They Are Stating Is True And Factual But It Harms Their Job And Their Reputation?

I was an employee for the Department Of Corrections for 10 years. And was charged with a DWI and assault two years ago. I since have moved on and started my own business. I had a client question my character when they heard that an investigator was asking a recert class if they knew me and they did and he went on to show an article that only had a one sided story for them to read. They discussed me personally in the class and then I started getting calls from ex co workers and clients.

Slander means false words that damage the reputation of a person. In your case as you said that what they are saying is true so it doesn't come under the clause of slander.

Now, if something has appeared on the scene suddenly then you should clear the things and present the actual picture. Show them the other side of the picture and present the true story. Truth always wins. That all you can do.
