What Do I Do? My 3 Months Old English Bulldog Who Can Not Control His Urination Or Bowel Movements?

We have had the puppy for 3 days. When we got him we new that he was incontinent and couldn't control his bowel movements. In the last two days he has had non stop runny stools, his rectum does not appear to be closing back and there is a good deal of blood in his diarrhea and just leaking out after. What should we do?

Walk the puppy outside after he has been feed which has to be on a regular repeated time schedule. Walk preferably on your own property for a length of time, the dog will most likely be fixated on investigating all the smells present out there. Eventually, the voiding will occur. Make that function the time for talking to the animal, all the time telling him that you are totally happy with what his has just done.

This ain't the MTV Show with Ozzie, so you may have to read a dog training manual...Same time Same place routine for the pup!

Not only does the dog need to being taken to a vet immediately, but you need to go to the breeder where you got this dog! If they are responsible they will cover vet bills. You should have been given some kind of guarantee when you purchased the dog. Check what it says and see to what you're entitled.

If the dog was transported to you from the breeder it could be ill from being jumbled, stressed, or eating or drinking differently than normal.

If you didn't get the English Bulldog from a breeder, you may be sol. That means you're going to have to foot the bill from the vet.

Where ever the dog came from, Animal Control or The Humane Society need to be contacted. If the dog came to you ill, the place that sold it probably needs to be evaluated by professionals.

English Bulldogs are very VERY prone to health problems. Many of them show up in early months and so you should all be on your toes as far as the puppy's health goes.
