The humps are to store their food, like a food storage or something.

It's because they store food and water in their humps so that they can travel and live in the desert for quite a long time and then they have to fill their humps again.

DONT READ THIS IF YOU ARE EATIING ;]]

It depends on how many humps if 1 hump it is to store water but if 2 humps then it is to store food and water... They store it in their humps when they have actually eaten it the humps are like a belly but can be eaten twice when eaten the first time the food/water goes into the first hump that lasts up to a week then when the camel is hungry again the food/water goes into the second hump that lasts a week then when hungry again their is no hump do go into so the camel just squashes it up inside and pushes it out in butox. ;]]
