    Three parties claim for having been the first to invent the microprocessor:

    The Central Air Data Computer (CADC),
    The Intel® 4004,
    and the Texas Instruments TMS 1000.

    The CADC system was for the Navy's fighter jets in 1970.
    The TI TMS 1000 was first to market in form of calculator
    The stand alone form was the Intel 4004, which is just one of the reasons it is often cited as the first ever microprocessor.
