How Do You Get Rabies From Bats?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You can get rabies from bats only when bats bite you or if its saliva comes into contact with your eyes, mouth or nose. It can also occur to you if saliva touches an open part of your body that is there because of any kind of wound. If it happens with you what you should do is to wash the area that is infected and wash it thoroughly. You should also seek medical advice immediately after the biting. The other thing you can do is to capture the bat and then send it to a laboratory for test to determine that the bat is infected one or not.

Sometimes it happens that people ignore the bite of a bat because they can not see any visible sign of the biting but it is advisable that you should take medical advice in that case also as the teeth of a bat is very small and some times even if it bites, it does not show to you.
