I Brought My Car To A Car Mechanic. He Told Me The Work Needed And Cost. I Couldn't Afford It I Told Him. He Fixed It. What Did He Need To Fix It? Verbal Or Written Approval?

He knew my financial position, knew that I was trying to get the money together. I never said I had the $943.00 needed. He knew I was on SSD. Now he says he will charge me $20.00 a day storage for my car and I must pick it up tonight. He notified me yesterday. I don't have this money, nor any chance, I am in the middle of a divorce.

Before any vehicle repairs are made in the state of Florida, there is what is called; a Florida Law Box on any invoice, that must be signed by you to agree on the cost of the repair.
If you did not sign it, and repairs were made without your authorization, then contact the Florida Department of Agriculture. They control the Motor Vehicle Repair Act.
If you are in the state of Florida, Bob Crawford is the commissioner and he is very serious about controlling this kind of situation.
If you are not in Florida, then check to see who controls this law in your state. Hope this has helped you.

Here in Colorado a verbal agreement is all that is needed and they can charge for storage. If you can, you should pay with a credit card.
