The Richard W Riley Institute of Government, Politics and Public leadership or the Riley Institute was named after Richard Wilson Riley the Secretary of Education under the Clinton administration from 1993 to 2001. The Riley Institute is a non partisan institute that focuses on teaching or imparting training to students in the field of Politics, Public Leadership and Public Policy. The institute is affiliated to the Furman University's department of Political Science in Greenville, South Carolina.
There is also a special yearly conference of the Riley institute that is visited by thousands of delegates from the world over. The programs offered at the Riley Institute focus on the promoting responsibility, participation and leadership. In one of the recent events held there (an annual conference) on National Security in a New Age where more than 4000 people attended the keynote speaker was no less than the former Secretary of State under the Clinton Administration Madeline All bright.
