The term erosion refers to the act of which a surface of the earth is worn away by the action of water, glacier, wind, waves, etc. In general terms it is the dislodgment of solid rocks, mud, soils, etc.
Erosion is eminent from weathering, which is the disintegration of rock and particles through course of action where there in no movement at all, even though both these processes may be concurrent. Erosion generally is a fundamental natural process but in quiet a few places it is greater than before because of human land use.
Unfortunate and poor land use practices comprise of deforestation, overgrazing, unorganized construction activity and road as well as trail construction. Though enhanced land use application can limit erosion to a large scale.
